Hey!

Thanks for checking out my site.

A little bit about me…

I live in Mexico City with my wife. I grew up in Virginia, and have lived in five U.S. states and three countries. I love traveling and photography.

My videography career began in 2003. During my time at NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia, I learned the basics of photography and storytelling. I told the stories of the people rebuilding their lives after hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods struck the area, the story of a community still struggling to survive in the ninth ward of New Orleans a year after Hurricane Katrina, the stories of National Guard soldiers training for war, and the story of people anxiously waiting and celebrating the Queen of England’s historic visit to Virginia.

My next big adventure came in 2008. I moved to Anchorage, Alaska and joined the team at KTUU. I covered major news events like the eruption of Mount Redoubt, Governor Sarah Palin’s bid for the White House, and the impact of global warming on the island of Shishmaref, just south of the Arctic Circle.

Two years later, I moved to Bakersfield, California to work at KBAK. I helped produce When Kern Burned, a half-hour special that won an Edward R Murrow award, two regional Emmy awards, and was named NPPA Best Documentary runner-up. In 2011, I became KBAK’s chief photographer.

Wanting to be closer to family, my wife and I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2013. I became a staff photographer for WRAL, where I helped produce two award-winning documentaries. I shot and edited The Journey Alone, winner of the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award, and Inside Cuba, a regional Emmy award winner.

Photojournalism is my passion. I strive for excellence, and look forward to using my 14 years of experience in the field to pursue excellence with you in your next project.

Talk to you soon.
